Smooth Lock is nowhere near like Smooth Down. Firstly, it smells vile now. I hate hate hate the smell of it. Artificial and chemical smell akin to air freshener, and it lingers on my hair. I am not happy that you have discontinued Smooth down Heat Glide and replaced it with this. I thought I was getting Smooth Down but immediately knew it was not the same the first time I used it. It made my hair ends tangle up throughout the day. I already deal with thinning hair and don't need any help from a product that is supposed to protect my hair. You have lost my business.

I have been using the Redken Smooth Down every day since high school (I'm now 28). I am in a complete state of panic over Redken discontinuing Smooth down, this new Smooth Lock is terrible! It makes my hair feel sticky and greasy, nothing like Smooth Down. The new smell is terrible as well. I am now purchasing every bottle of Smooth Down that I can find on ebay to stock myself for years.
Thank you Redken for the sample! I have tried this product for several weeks now and love it! I have been a hair oil junkie and used a favorite argan oil product for some time, but the Smoot Lock Heat Glide will now replace that product. Smooth Lock Heat Glide leaves my hair smooth, shiny, and so soft! I will add this product to my to daily routine!
