I have used Smooth Down products for years, being the only combination of shampoo and conditioner that would 'smooth' my hair, even in humid weather. The new Smooth Lock product does absolutely nothing to 'smooth' the fizz. It does soften the hair but to a point where it is uncontrollable. I am now having to try other brands - very BAD research & development, Redken.
I don't like Smooth Lock at all and it's nothing like Smooth Down. Doesn't even smell the same. BRING BACK SMOOTH DOWN!
Nothing smooth about this product. Redken, you made a bad move. Will never purchase again. Smooth Down was THE BEST to leave my hair soft, silky, and SMOOTH. This stuff makes my hair frizzy, lifeless, and dull. And it smells bad! What were you thinking?
I finally figured out that Smooth Down was discontinued. I am so disappointed. I will not bother trying Smooth Lock. Why would Redken ever discontinue Smooth Down - I have been waiting for MONTHS to see it on the shelves!!! It's the best shampoo I have ever used in my 46 years! :(
My hair stylist introduced me to Smoothdown years ago and was very disappointed when I recently tried to replenish, I could no longer buy it. Apparently Smoothlock is the replacement product and it's absolutely terrible. I have naturally curly hair and this product is not going to cut it. I beg you to bring back Smoothdown.
I loved Smooth Down and used it exclusively. This product leaves my hair dry, lifeless and out of control. A complete WASTE OF MONEY !!!!!!

I have used Smooth Down for several years and love(d) it. This new version is SO more moisturizing that my hair is more light weight (good) but so over-moisturized that my hair won't hold on to curl anymore and is flat and lifeless by day 2. PLEASE BRING BACK THE ORIGINAL FORMULA - - SMOOTH DOWN NOT SMOOTH LOCK! I will be returning my shampoo, conditioner, and heat glide. DISAPPOINTING
I noticed the biggest difference in my hair after I was introduced to the Smooth Lock line. This was like Argan oil x 1000! I can now blow-dry my hair with or without a brush and it isn't a frizzy mess and Smooth Lock actually changed the feel of my hair.
I have spent thousands of dollars trying to find a product for my dry, course, unruly, and completely unmanageable hair...my savings grace: Smooth Down. People have commented on my hair and told me how great it looked. Since the change to Smooth Lock people have asked me why I changed my products to go back to crappy hair? Now I want to cry!!! Help Me Please!!! Bring back Smooth Down!!!
