When did you know you wanted to do hair?

I have always wanted to do hair. My passion and drive to get serious concerning this occupation came after having a month or two where friends were consistently calling me up to come over and color their hair.

How long have you been doing color?

I have been doing hair professionally since 2009

How would you describe your approach to doing hair color?

My approach to coloring hair is professional. I desire my work to be honest and above reproach. I would love to give each and every woman the transformation she has been longing for. I will not shy away from educating my clients on the health of their hair and what is best for her future as we walk through a consultation together. Clients can expect a good and colorful consultation before i begin any chemical or mechanical services. I like things done right, and take pride in my work. On the other hand, I also love to take risks and I am confident my client and I will dream up a beautiful, bold, and unique look.

What inspires your creativity?

I am inspired by patterns a lot of the time. Simular to make up artistry, I love finding perfect base and highlighters that make eyes pop and skin tone glow. In my spare time, I analyse a lot of hair, magazines or people walking, I am always on the lookout. I am a very visual person and I tend to pick up on details. I have been interested in colors and fashion since I was a little girl, and it was carried on throughout my life.

What advice would you give someone considering coloring their hair for the first time?

For someone who have never colored their hair, they should know they have plenty of options. Do not be afraid to express yourself verbally and visually if you are new to coloring your hair. You don't have to just cover your gray, why not blend it for a more subtle regrowth? Ask me about Redken's multiple color options from demi or permanent color, glaze, toning, level up, level down, enhancing, or filling. These are terms you might be less familiar with... options other than just high lights and low lights. You need a professional, this is why you need a certified color artist. It is expected to take a couple days when becoming familiar to a new look. However, do not settle for anything less than a "ooowooawoo" reaction to your hair.

Do you customize a hair color service for each and every client?

I love customization! And I have created three catagories a woman might find helpful. One is for the Chic woman, one for the Inventive woman and the other is for the Organic woman. Depending on my recommendations and your personal preference, I believe we can create a hair color experience that will be stimulating and exciting. Ask yourself a couple questions. If you desire your hair to represent the most current fashions--you are looking for the chic, changeable hair color advice. However, if you are interested in the most creative and trend setting look, you are most likely the Inventive client. Lastly, if you desire the most natural look, something pure and raw that resembles your childhood, then I would consider the most Organic suggestions for your hair color.

There is always room for something new, even if it is just one subtle difference, it can really make you feel fresh!! And for the innovative woman, Oh we WILL be mixing up a whole new formula for sure!
