When did you know you wanted to do hair?

I realized that I want to be a hairdresser after I got my hair permed in high school. At the time, I did not realize that it was not a good idea to ride your bike home after a chemical service. In doing so the wind blew up my perm and when I got home my hair had looked like I stuck my finger in a socket. It was the worst experience ever! From that moment on, I knew that I wanted to learn the skills and become a hairdresser. So off to beauty school I went.

How long have you been doing color?

My love affair with haircolor began in 1988. I really enjoy the process of how haircolor can transform dull, flat and mousy toned natural hair to stunning blondes, brunettes, or redheads.

How would you describe your approach to doing hair color?

My apporach to haircolor is simple. My first priority is to get to know my guest by doing a complete consultation. During the discovery process of getting to know my guests wants,needs and lifestyle I evaluate the information and share my professional recommendations. A color plan that will marry her haircut, haircolor that will complement her lifestyle.

What inspires your creativity?

Education! Education! Attending classes and hair shows sparks my creative drive. I love to learn what the hot new techniques and haircolor trends are. I get so excited to develop new skills,and look forward to sharing the fresh new knowledge and create fabulous new hairstyles.

What advice would you give someone considering coloring their hair for the first time?

First time color clients should consider two important items. First the maintenance that color may require. Second, how right haircolor will enhance your facial features and eyecolor.

Do you customize a hair color service for each and every client?

Yes, I do. I love to create unique color formula for all my guests. Customizing new color formulas keeps my guests excited for something new and different with every visit.

What celebrity always has great hair?

Celebrities that keep the beauty a buzz.. Red hot Rhinna,brings redheads front and center. Jennifer Aniston, has been constant favorite.I love her new look right now. Haley Berry, always looks fabulous in short hair. Reese Witherspoon, looks beautiful in any shade of blonde. Lady Gaga vision of fantasy hairstyles, gives young adults something fresh to express themselves in their generation.

What's your approach to returning haircolor clients?

Hair trends are constantly changing,every returning guest receives a consult. It is important to discuss how they are maintaining the hairstyle. As colorist it is my responsiblilty to share new color concepts.To keep my guests current and in love with thier look.
