When did you know you wanted to do hair?

I was first inspired to do hair when I started working in a salon as a receptionist. I was fascinated by the fact that doing someone's hair had such an impact on the way they felt. I found myself wanting to give people that feeling. I enjoyed the structure and creativity of the craft. I attended beauty school in 2003 and found my passion!! The owner of the salon along with Redken trained me and gave me the education that I needed to become a successful stylist.

How long have you been doing color?

I have been doing hair color since 2003.

How would you describe your approach to doing hair color?

My approach to hair color would be creating current styles and colors that are designed to personally fit each individual guest. My goal for each of my guests comes together through consultation to work on an overall look that will take their personal style to the next level.

What inspires your creativity?

Fashion magazines, television programs, and movies tend to inspire my creativity. I love seeing a picture and being able to recreate that look. Continuing education through hair shows and in salon events challenge me to be a better colorist.

What advice would you give someone considering coloring their hair for the first time?

I would advise them to keep in mind what their life style will permit. We go over what the maintenance will be for the look we are creating. How often they will need to come in, and what products will help them to keep their color vibrant and in great condition.

Do you customize a hair color service for each and every client?

Absolutly! Every guest receives customized hair color. Each visit I consult with my guest to make sure that we have decided on a look that is going to work for them. Everyone is different; there for every color I create is customized specifically for them.

What celebrity always has great hair?

Reese Witherspoon, Jennifer Aniston, Rihanna, Vanessa Hudgens, Selena Gomez, Victoria Beckham, Jennifer Lopez, Jessica Biel, Cameron Diaz, Gisele Bundchen, and Drew Barrymore are some celebrity trendsetters that come to mind when I think great hair.

What's your approach to returning haircolor clients?

When my guests return for their hair color we consult everytime! Each visit I want to know if my guests hair needs have changed. Do they need to add shine, change the look to match the season, brighten or deepen. My goal is making sure they are happy with their look. Staying consistent keeps my color guests coming back.
