When did you know you wanted to do hair?

When I was about 7 years old and cut all the hair off my Barbies and taught myself how to frenchbraid my hair.

How long have you been doing color?

Fourteen years.

How would you describe your approach to doing hair color?

My approach to hair color is taking my guests needs and desires and putting them together for a signature custom made look just for them. Maintenance is important and I want my guest to love their hair everyday - from the time they leave their appointment until their next vist. I like to change things up for a fresh seasonal look, and for those who get bored easily, a step up with a new dramatic look is always fun too!

What inspires your creativity?

Creating new colors and hairstyles never gets old to me. I absolutely love transforming someone's look and seeing their giant smile on their face when I am all done. Making a difference in someone else's life and making them feel real good about themselves is what inspires my creativity.

What advice would you give someone considering coloring their hair for the first time?

Congratulations and welcome to the great club of endless possibilities!! What a great way to change a look, whether adding a hue of red, a few sunbursting hilights or a great cocoa brown. The first time we color I advise being a little on the conservative side, eveyone's perception of "bright, light, or dark, or dramatic" is different. So something that may seem very subtle to me may be a big change for you. After a visit or two I will get to know you and your hair and grow to know just what will rock your world.

Do you customize a hair color service for each and every client?

I sure do. I believe its very important to be realistic, you may want to be platinum blonde but may not have the time to get your roots touched up every 3-4 weeks so maybe some dimensional hilights will be more suitable to your schedule, or vice versa - if time isn't an issue its more important to come in for that high maintenance blonde that you love. Also, I will personalize your color to bring out your eye color and bring out your best features.

What's your approach to returning haircolor clients?

Never to be boring! I will always be up for changing things up, but if I formulated a magic color that you're in love with - I have that on record and we can certainly go with that as well. I am here also to educate you, so whether it is my first time coloring and cutting your hair, or you have been my guest for years, I will always check in and share my secrets with you for great styling tips!
