Texture Variations

The disheveled cloud of hair as seen at Prada was created by "rick-racking" the hair.

Step 1: Apply a quarter-sized amount of thickening lotion 06 body builder to towel-dried hair and blow-dry. 

Step 2: Wind 1-inch sections into figure-8 (rick-rack) shapes around a large hairpin and apply pressure with a flat iron.

Step 3: After hair has cooled, remove hair from pins and brush out for a frizzy texture and voluminous look.

Step 4: Create added height and shape at the front section by backcombing slightly and shaping with hands. Mist quick dry 18 instant finishing spray for instant control.

Step 5: Pin side sections of hair to the middle back of the head.

Step 6: Take bottom section of hair and roll up in an outward direction and secure with pins. Play around with shape so bottom section is seen at either sides of neck (from a frontal view).

Step 7: Pull out bits of hair for an easy and softer look.
