Beauty trends may come and go, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t fun to try out –– especially when it’s a music festival-inspired hair styles and makeup!
While festivals are known for bringing music fans together, the beauty scene is where it’s really at. Whether it’s debuting glitter roots or metallic makeup, it inspires us to revamp our style. We’ve rounded up some of our favorite festival hair styles and makeup looks that are wearable for everyday.
1. Boxer Braids

When in doubt, braid it out! Braids are having a moment and it’s easy to see why –– they’re easy to recreate and suitable for all types of occasions. The process is similar to the steps you would take when separating hair into two sections to create double dutch braids, except with a boxer braid you continue braiding normally all the way down. If you’re not into the pastel hue, skip it and play up your favorite haircolor using a shine mist for ultra-glossy braids.
2. Blinged-Out Hair

Liven up any up-do with festival-approved hair accessories. Simply grab two 2-inch sections from the hairline and bring them together to secure at the back of your head. Weave jewelry, chains or any other hair accessories throughout the joined section for a look that’s appropriate for everyday. You can also add beachy texture to the remaining section that is left out of the up-do by working Beachy Envy Wave Aid throughout the hair and scrunching for festival-worthy waves.
3. Half-Up Top Knot

We love a good half-up top knot and a chic braid down the middle gives it the perfect music festival hair style edge. The on-trend look is a breeze to quickly pull together when you’re crunched for time. Begin by parting off the top section of your hair starting at the temples. French braid the section toward the back and secure it once you reach the crown. Wrap the hair into a small bun and pin it to the top of the head. The remaining hair can be styled by spritzing Curvaceous CCC Spray and scrunching it into a natural curl. Use the CCC spray to smooth over any flyaways that may pop up. PSA: Glitter roots are optional if you want to keep things low-key for the office.
4. Braided Ballerina Bun

The super fun twist to this traditional ballerina bun is anything but boring. To give hair the texture it needs, sprinkle a volumizing powder throughout the roots. Flip your head over and begin French braiding a 2-inch section of hair starting at the base of the neck moving toward the crown. Secure with an elastic, then create a ballerina bun as you would normally with the rest of the hair. Wrap the end of the braid around the bun and pin it in place. To keep humidity at bay, apply an extreme hold hairspray over the hair and use your fingertips to smooth away any frizz.
5. Face Jewels

If you’re into experimenting with your makeup look, why not incorporate chrome face jewels and embellishments? Stick the gems to your face to frame around the brows or underneath your eyes. For a look that’s a little tamer, go for gems in a smaller size and stick one to the inner corner of your eye and one to the outer-v for a minimal but equally stunning accent.
6. Neon Makeup

Instantly brighten eyes with a turquoise blue eyeliner that adds just the right amount of color. Apply it below the waterline and through the inner corner for show-stopping pigment without needing to pick up a single eyeshadow. Wear the eyeliner alone or top off the look with a swipe of flaming neon lipstick for major festival makeup vibes.
7. Metallic Lips

Who says metallics are only for the eyes-- or festivals? Give your makeup game an upgrade with lippies that have a bold metal or glitter finish. This liquid lipstick formula is smudge-proof and long-lasting, making it perfect for a night out on the town or days when you feel like your makeup needs a pick-me-up.
8. Dewy Skin

Dewy, balmy skin under the hot festival temps is inevitable, but scoring the look every day is easier than you might think thanks to NYX Cosmetics. Dab the brand’s Duo Chromatic Illuminating Powders to the high points of the face along your cheekbones, down the bridge of your nose and brow arches for a pearly sheen that acts as a backlight filter for your skin.
