New Hue, New You: Making A Statement (Episode 11)
In episode 11 of “New Hue, New You,” —a YouTube video series that revolves around Redken Artists providing makeovers to lucky Redken clients to build confidence and positively change their lives—we meet Anne, a New York City native who sought a pink haircolor in support of her Aunt who is in treatment for Breast Cancer.
You just landed your dream job. You’re moving to a new city. You just started dating someone very special. When a big change is happening in your life, a makeover can help you feel more confident about handling what lies ahead. Because when you look good, you can’t help but feel good—and there’s nothing like a trendy haircut, or a new pastel haircolor to make you feel like a better version of yourself. That’s where Redken comes in!
MEET THE CLIENT
Name: Anne
Age: 14
City: New York, New York
Occupation: Student
Hair Challenge: She wanted to color her hair pastel pink in support of her Aunt's breast cancer treatment.
NYC-native Anne had long been inspired by her Aunt, an environmental activist who had recently been diagnosed with Breast Cancer.
“One of the main things that inspires me is my aunt who works to support environmental causes and activism. She was diagnosed with Breast Cancer earlier this year. She’s always been this role model for me, and I want to show my support for her.”
To help Anne express both her love for her aunt and her support of this incredible cause, Redken Artist Tara Abramowicz paid her a visit.
“Anne’s story is so inspiring, and I feel like a lot of young people today care about making a statement.”, said Abramowicz, “To show love and support for a family member through your hair, when you’re 14, that’s a big deal. I feel extremely touched and humbled to have the opportunity to create that for her.”
THE HAIR MAKEOVER
To give Anne a strong yet soft pink hair transformation, Tara turned to Redken’s Shades EQ Pastel Pink haircolor gloss to add soft color, dimension and shine. Tara began by giving Anne an all over Balayage which gently melted into the pastel pink tones, creating the perfect statement-making look. “The Shades EQ Pastel Pink Gloss is going to go all over, and when we’re done, she’ll have pieces that really pop.” Anne’s transformation is truly inspiring!
