MEET JOSH WOOD, REDKEN’S NEW GLOBAL COLOR CREATIVE DIRECTOR

MEET JOSH: Josh joined Redken in 2017 as the Global Color Creative Director. He will serve as a spokesperson for Redken Haircolor, participate in Redken’s award-winning education initiatives and events, provide artistic direction on photo shoots, and offer product development vision. He'll also create inspiring haircolor looks for Redken’s models and muses.

BORN IN: Barnsley, UK

GOT HIS HAIRDRESSING START: "My hairdressing career started by chance. It was far from a natural choice for a young lad from the working class, mining town of Barnsley. I followed a friend and signed up for a Saturday job at a local salon and soon found myself enrolled on a Youth Training Scheme. I realized hairdressing could be my means of escape."

BIG BREAK: "After 14 years working at Vidal Sassoon in Leeds, I moved to New York to work with Sassoon himself. It was there that I met David Bowie and collaborated with him on his iconic 'red look' for his Earthling album."

CLIENT LIST: Vogue, W Magazine, Elle, Grazia, Louis Vuitton, Jean Paul Gaultier, Versace, and Marc Jacobs.

CURRENT INITIATIVES: "I'm honored to be working with Redken and be the brand's Global Color Creative Director. Color is my passion and I've always wanted to push the boundaries on the way we think about color. I'm excited to bring a new vision to Redken and I can't wait to be part of the Redken Tribe."
