SIMPLE WAYS TO KEEP HAIR TANGLE-FREE

Dealing with tangled hair can be frustrating. Sometimes it can feel like no matter what you do, your hair always winds up a tangled mess. While it’s common to run into the occasional knot while running your fingers through your hair, excessive tangling can be a sign of a deeper hair issue, like dryness. Fortunately, using the correct conditioning products in your haircare routine can help promote hydration and lead to fewer tangles in the long run. Instead of fighting a losing battle with your hairbrush, read on to see how you can keep knots at bay.

UPDATE YOUR CLEANSING ROUTINE

Use time in the shower as an opportunity to easily get rid of stubborn knots. It’s the perfect moment for detangling because conditioner can provide enough lubrication to the hair to soften up any tangles, making it much easier to brush through them. For tangle-free hair, use a wide-tooth comb to brush through hair from ends to roots after cleansing with All Soft Shampoo and Conditioner. The shampoo works to gently cleanse the hair while the conditioner uses argan oil to gently detangle and soften hair.

KEEP HAIR HYDRATED

For hair that doesn’t have enough moisture, treating strands to a hair mask like All Soft Mega Mask can help in the battle against tangles. That’s because tangle-prone hair is often dry or lacking in hydration, which can be a reason why it becomes matted. Before stepping out of the shower, apply the Mega Mask focusing on the ends of your hair and any parts that tangle the most. After rinsing, hair will feel softer making it possible to glide a brush through your hair without running into snags.

ADD PROTEIN TO YOUR HAIR

Hair that’s prone to breakage and split ends also leads to frequent tangling in the long-run. These are all signs of damage, and while the best remedy for split ends is to see your stylist for a trim, a protein treatment can go a long way in providing a temporary fix. To ward off mechanical damage from brushing, distribute Extreme Anti-Snap Leave-In Treatment to weakened areas of the hair while it’s damp. After applying the treatment, let your hair air dry to reap the benefits of stronger and instantly smoother strands.

USE A HAIR DETANGLING SPRAY

When all else fails, there’s nothing wrong with adding a hair detangling spray to your brushing routine. Whether your hair is damp or dry, spray One United throughout the hair and begin brushing from ends to roots. This multi-benefit treatment contains a cationic complex, xylose, and positively charged ingredients which help to detangle and increase manageability. And while it may seem counterintuitive to brush from ends to roots, it’s actually the best way to reduce breakage because you’ll use less force as you brush out any knots on the ends. Be sure to make your way slowly from the ends and moving upward to break up any knots that you find along the way.

STYLE HAIR BEFORE BED

You may have noticed that your hair is vulnerable to getting tangled in your sleep. To wake up with hair that’s manageable in the morning, divide hair into two sections and create three-strand braids. The braids will ensure that hair won’t get tousled around as you move about in your sleep. Plus, it will set your hair up for gorgeous waves or at the very least give your hair a slight bend depending on your hair type. And while you’re at it, consider investing in a silk pillowcase which is a lot easier on the hair and won’t rub or create friction. Whenever possible, it’s always a good idea to stay away from pillowcases made of flannel or cotton because these types of materials create the most friction on hair strands.
